SWITRONIX EQUIPS CHARITY COMMITTED TO
JUVENILE BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD TUMORS
JUVENILE BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD TUMORS
Long Island, NY – August 9, 2011 – Concurrent with Switronix’s commitment to support filmmaking for philanthropic causes, the company has donated power and lighting products to Angelight Films. Angelight is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a creative outlet for children with chronically and terminally ill brain and spinal cord tumors to express themselves through the creation of their own short film. Stephanie Angel, Angelight Films founder and executive director formed Angelight in July 2008 in the memory of her late sister Ilana, who passed away at the age of five from a brain tumor.
As an independent and mainstream filmmaker, writer, director and script supervisor, Angel has found a wonderful way to fuse her craft with a cause she is passionate about. Her goal is to give children the chance to express their love, gifts and/or challenges through the medium of film. This way they can also leave their mark on the world and be of guidance to other children and adults.
“Making films for these bright children brings me so much joy. I am so grateful to Switronix for their support and generous donation of products. I am very much looking forward to using their innovative products on our next child's film shoot."
After talking with Angel and assessing her videography needs, Switronix decided that a Powerbase-70 battery pack along with the GP-H56S light would add the most to their production. In addition to providing videography equipment, Switronix has committed a monetary donation.
“The Powerbase-70 is a perfect option for Angelight Films”, says Daniel Moore, Switronix product specialist. “The last thing these children need to worry about while engaging in some creative relief is battery life. The Powerbase-70 will allow Angel to power her Canon 60D without pause, allowing the child’s spontaneity to be captured in the most organic manner.”
